A by-election was held for the Landward Caithness ward of Highland Council on 28 November 2013 following the resignation of SNP Cllr Alex MacLeod.

Matthew Reiss gained the seat as an Independent.

An earlier by-election was held in Landward Caithness ward on 2 May 2013.
